Flat Glass: The Building Blocks for Custom Glass
The glass and window industries are built upon the platform of float glass. Float glass provides a starting point for all other glass products, whether it is bent or curved glass, mirrors or a high end shower - it all started as a flat glass product. Highly efficient lowe glass starts as clear flat glass prior to being coated with a low emissivity coating to provide energy star rated energy efficient windows.
Old Town Glass deals with glass products from all of the major glass manufacturers in the North America. We use clear and lowe glass products from Cardinal Glass Industries, PPG, and Guardian Industries. We attempt to use local sources for as much of our glass products as possible, for example: we obtain our copper free mirror from Contractors Wardrobe’s Mirror Fabrication line in Sacramento, CA. However, we needed we till work with suppliers to source specialty products internationally or from other parts of the country. In the event a customer requires restoration glass for a project, we would source it from Hollander Glass or Bendheim. These manufacturers still make restoration glass the hand blown way in Europe.
