How the EPA Lead Based Paint RRP Rule Affects Your Window & Door Installation
If we are installing a new window (excludes: replacement “zbar” style windows) or door in your home and it was constructed prior to 1978, by law, we must provide you with the following:
EPA's lead hazard information pamphlet Renovate Right: Important Lead Hazard Information for Families, Child Care Providers, and Schools (PDF)
Prior to beginning work on your project, we need to have the last page of the booklet signed and returned to us.
If you are a landlord or property manager and we are performing work in a residence occupied by a tenant, the occupant must be provided with the pamphlet, prior to the installation.
As a window replacement and glass & glazing contractor, Old Town Glass is affected by this rule. Any window replacement in homes or child care facilities, constructed prior to 1978 is affected by these regulation.
In order to comply with the EPA’s RRP Program Rule, we have 6 personnel trained as EPA Certified Renovators. In addition to training our personnel, Old Town Glass is becoming certified as a EPA RRP Firm.
If you are interested in the type of work we will be performing to protect you from Lead Paint, please view the Contractors: Lead Safety During Renovation Brochure on the EPA’s website.
